Meter reading systems can be used wherever there is a need to record the readings of the meter. Initially, separate devices known as meter readers were used to record the readings from different meters. But, this system is in the form of a mobile application which is downloaded on the smart phones. The concerned person needs to record the reading by opening the application on his smart phone. The readings undergo some calculation to generate bills. After the accurate bill generation, readings along with bills are sent to the desired spots.
Electric meter reading and water meter reading systems are examples of its application. Each month, concerned persons from the electricity and water departments visit our houses to note the readings from our meters. At the end of the month, we receive the bills along with readings. They make use of these automatic meter reading systems.
