Participating in marathons has become very common these days. Participation is not only fun but also a healthy activity. ALABSO’s #TimeTheRace project, developed by Techwalnut, is an RFID based Marathon Timing System. It monitors the time of participants throughout the race to calculate their precise time, speed and performance.
TimeTheRace makes use of RFID chips which are attached behind the bib numbers(unique to each participant) provided to the participants. RFID Readers are placed at certain distances on the marathon track. When the participants pass through those readers, the readers detect the RFID chips. They indicate the time of the participants at each checkpoint. With the help of this data, results are generated. These results can be viewed on client-specific devices/applications. UI Applications may be web applications, Android/IOS apps or universal display boards. According to the requirements of the clients, the results can be generated and viewed precisely.
